By downloading or using Word First, you agree to these terms. Please read them — they're written to be understood, not buried.
1. The app and what it does
Word First is a Bible devotional and app-blocking tool for iOS. It uses Apple's Screen Time API to restrict access to apps you choose, unlocking them after you complete a reading session. The app is developed by Land Run Brands, LLC, based in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
2. Subscriptions and billing
Word First offers auto-renewable subscriptions managed entirely by Apple's App Store:
- Monthly plan: $4.99/month
- Yearly plan: $29.99/year (equivalent to $2.50/month)
- Both plans include a 3-day free trial for new subscribers
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your iPhone's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Land Run Brands does not process payments directly. All billing is handled by Apple.
3. Free trial
New subscribers receive a 3-day free trial. The trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial period ends. You will not be charged during the trial period.
4. Refunds
Refund requests are handled by Apple, not by Land Run Brands. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot process refunds directly.
5. Screen Time and app blocking
Word First uses Apple's Family Controls framework with Individual authorization. This means:
- You authorize the app to restrict apps on your own device
- This is not parental controls — it applies only to your device, with your consent
- You can remove the restrictions at any time through iOS Settings
- Land Run Brands has no visibility into which apps you block
6. Content
The devotional content in Word First — readings, reflections, prayers, and word studies — is original content created by Land Run Brands and protected by copyright. You may use it for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, or republish it without written permission.
Scripture quotations marked NIV are taken from the Holy Bible, New International Version®. Scripture quotations marked KJV are from the King James Version, which is in the public domain.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to circumvent or exploit the app-blocking functionality
- Reverse-engineer or decompile the application
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
8. Disclaimer of warranties
Word First is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements. Apple's Screen Time API governs the app-blocking functionality; Land Run Brands is not responsible for changes Apple makes to that system.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Land Run Brands shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Word First.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
